I’m an American girl living in Japan embarking on a mission of self betterment. By self betterment I mean losing weight and gaining a healthier perspective of self. Said mission is not helped by my lack of Japanese language ability nor having to readjust to the metric system. A kilo translates to 2.2 pounds, seeing results on the scale isn’t as quick as it would be with pounds! Don’t even get me started with label reading. Anyways, my aim in starting this blog is to give myself extra incentive by making myself (somewhat) publicly accountable by tracking what I’m doing online. I have no idea who might read this but if you can identify with what I write, then rock on. Support is always welcome.
I am out to lose almost 20 kilos. Or about 45 pounds.
Weight for most of us is tied into several issues. I don’t think I got to my current weight from overeating and lack of activity alone. There’s some unhealthy thinking going on that need to be dealt with. A healthy body image is just as important as a healthy body weight.
